trade school - Sepand ShahabI was born in Tehran but have been living in the US since the age of one. I have an MFA in composition from CalArts but these days I do less strict composing and more participatory pieces or whimsical interactive installations. I run the fledgling and incredibly inconvenient event series Rehearsals on the River, and I have been in residence with the US Forest Service in Alaska (2013) and at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program (2011). I play the harpsichord and aside from experimental music and baroque music, I enjoy the music of Beethoven, Mahler, and Blawan.
