*Please note: This event is remote--with Dr. Gaiter, moderator Silas Munro, and the rest of the participants on Zoom--but we will gather in Altadena to watch the lecture and participate in the Q&A together!
From the BIPOC Design History event description: "In celebration of Juneteenth, we’re offering a FREE class led by the brilliant Colette Gaiter, continuing her impactful lecture from our first BIPOC Design History course, Black Design in America. This special session will spotlight the revolutionary work of Emory Douglas, Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party, whose iconic posters serve as tools for activism, community empowerment, and radical change. We’re honored to welcome Colette back as she guides us through a deeper exploration of how design can bear witness to struggle and imagine liberation."
This event is FREE to attend, and those interested in donating to the important work of the BIPOC Design History education and design team can do so HERE.
